I don't disagree that we need to secure our southern border. But that's not inconsistent with denying China the ability to undermine our friendships in effectively "our neighborhood." I'd hate to see Colombia turn into a de facto Chinese colony because of economic pressure to accept Chinese capital. This need not cost US taxpayers any additional money. We can reallocate money currently deployed towards less useful purposes...
